Fishing Report

09/18/2026

Last weekend of summer

Looks like the last weekend of summer is going to be quite nice.  And then the forecast is calling for a coastal northeaster to blow in Monday afternoon and last through at least Wednesday.  Hopefully it will blow through in time to get out surf fishing tournament in on Saturday September, 26.   We will be updating the fishing report and social media about the status of the tournament accordingly throughout next week.

The surf is producing a mixed bag of multiple species.  Mainly spot and kingfish.  Small blues, pompano, and trout have also been reported.  Sandworms and Fishbites bloodworms have been the best baits on small hooks right behind the first breaking wave.

We currently have fresh mullet.  The supply has been very sporadic.  All fresh mullet is on a first come first serve basis.  It is in such short supply that we cannot hold bait upon request.

In the Inlet, tog and sheepshead have been biting on live sand fleas and live green crabs.  We have both!!

There have been croakers and flounder in the Inlet as well. Use sand worms for the croaker and gulp and/or live minnows for the flounder.

Bluefish have been coming in the Inlet on the daytime incoming tide.  Bucktaills and metal cast lures are the best baits.  Look for the feeding birds.

The 29th Annual Delaware Seashore Fall Surf Fishing Classic will be held on Saturday, September 26th.  Tournament information and on-line sign up can be found under the Events Tab on our website!!!

Please note - the DMS Surf Fishing tournament scheduled for Saturday, October 10 has been CANCELLED
